Privacy policy

Quirepage exists to turn your own course material into practice. That means it holds your files and your answers, so here is exactly what is kept, where, and how you take it back.

Last updated 24 September 2026.

Who is responsible

Quirepage is run by Do Dinh Phuc, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions and requests go to hello@quirepage.com.

What is collected

Your account

  • Email address and a display name. If you sign in with Google, also the profile picture Google provides. If you sign in with Apple, the name you choose to share and the email address Apple provides, which may be a private relay address that forwards to you.
  • Optional profile details you choose to add: university and year of study.
  • Your plan, and whether you have opted in to letting flagged items improve the AI.

Your course material

  • The files you upload, stored as you sent them, plus the text extracted from them.
  • What the AI derives from that text: topics, exercise types, the questions it found and the papers it writes.

What you do in the app

  • Answers you type, the marks and feedback they receive, notes, cheatsheets, chat conversations and your review schedule.
  • Daily usage counts, kept so plan limits can be applied.
  • Activity dates, which power the study calendar on your dashboard.

Billing

Payments on the website are taken by Polar, our merchant of record; in the iPhone app, by Apple through the App Store. Quirepage never sees your card number. It stores only your Polar customer and subscription identifiers or your App Store transaction identifiers, the plan you bought and when it ends.

Technical logs

The servers log each request with its IP address, path, timing and a request identifier, and log errors with enough detail to fix them. These logs are kept for at most 30 days. There is no advertising and no tracking pixels. Page views are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which records the page, referrer, country and device type in aggregate, sets no cookie, and does not identify you or follow you across other sites.

How it is used

  • To run the product: index your files, write papers, mark answers, answer chat questions, schedule reviews.
  • To send account email: sign-in links, password resets, email-change confirmations and receipts.
  • To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse.
  • To improve the AI, only if you turn on Help improve Quirepage under Settings, and then only the specific answer or question you flag, with the material it was graded against. Your files as a whole are never used this way.

Your uploads and answers are not used to train AI models, at Quirepage or at any provider. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone for their own purposes.

Who processes it for us

These providers handle data on our behalf and under contract, only to deliver the service:

ProviderWhat forWhere
SupabaseDatabase, sign-in, file storageSeoul, South Korea
Fly.ioRuns the APITokyo, Japan
VercelServes the websiteGlobal edge network
OpenAIText from your files and your answers are sent to generate topics, papers, marks and chat repliesUnited States
PolarCheckout, invoices, subscriptionsEuropean Union and United States
AppleIn-app purchases and subscriptions in the iPhone appUnited States

OpenAI processes data sent through its API under its API data policies and does not use it to train its models. The iPhone app asks for your permission before anything of yours is sent to OpenAI, and signs you out if you decline. Where a provider is outside your country, the transfer relies on that provider’s standard contractual safeguards.

How long it is kept

  • Everything above is kept while your account exists.
  • Deleting a course removes its files and everything derived from them at once. Deleting your account removes all of it, including the sign-in record, and cancels any subscription.
  • Database backups roll off within 30 days of a deletion.
  • Items you flagged while the improve setting was on may be kept in an anonymised evaluation set; turn the setting off to stop new items being added.

Your choices and rights

  • See and take your data: Settings, Data and privacy, then Download export gives you one JSON file with everything except the original uploads, which you already have. In the iPhone app: You, then Your data.
  • Correct it: name, university and year are editable under Settings; email under Security.
  • Delete it: Settings, Data and privacy, then Delete account; in the iPhone app, You, then Delete account. No email to us required. If you signed in with Apple, deleting from the app also removes Quirepage from your Apple ID’s Sign in with Apple list.
  • Object or ask questions: email hello@quirepage.com. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Cookies and storage

The site stores your sign-in session in your browser so you stay signed in, and a cookie that remembers the interface language you chose. Neither is used to track you across other sites.

Age

Quirepage is for students aged 13 and over and is not intended for anyone younger. If you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian before you sign up. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and it will be removed.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top moves and signed-in users are told in the app. The current version is always at quirepage.com/privacy.
